Eleventh Week after Pentecost
WORSHIP ON THE LAWN
LITURGY OF HOLY COMMUNION
with an Observance of
September 11th, 2001
Opening of Sunday School
and Preschool Seasons
and the Annual Congregational Picnic
The congregation at
Sts. Peter and Paul invites you to join us
on Sunday, September 11th,
10:15 a.m.
for an outdoor worship service including
an observance of
the Tenth Anniversary of
September 11th, 2001.
This occasion also marks the first day of
the Sunday school season
and the opening of our preschool year with
the annual congregational picnic.
The Liturgy of Holy Communion is celebrated at 10:15 a.m.
on the church grounds.
(Please note that this is the beginning of
the regular Sunday worship, education and
choir rehearsals schedule.)
Please bring some food to share (pot-luck) at the picnic, and sign-up in the church dining hall if you have the opportunity. Chicken, sausages, hot dogs and sodas will be provided. Enjoy lawn games, music by the Kurhayez sisters, fellowship and conversation.
Help is needed with set-up for the liturgy and picnic on Saturday, September 10th at 10:00 a.m. as well as take-down on Sunday following worship. Please notify Pastor Lauritsen ([708] 442-5250) if you can assist with set-up and/or tear-down (not such a big job if there is plenty of help).
Singers are also needed for a choral anthem for this worship service. Rehearsal will be held Wednesday, September 7th and Sunday morning before the service.
If you are willing to help out in any other ways, please contact Sheryl Hallmann or Pastor Lauritsen. We look forward to welcoming back so many of you who have been away from the community at Sts. Peter and Paul during the summer months!
