The Third Sunday after the Epiphany
Week of Prayer for Christian Unity
Today we welcome the Rev. Dr. Scott Jansen, pastor of Riverside Presbyterian Church, as the preaching and presiding minister at the 10:15 a.m. liturgy. This pulpit and table exchange is occurring in our communities today in observance of the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, January 18th (The Confession of St. Peter) through January 25th (The Call / Conversion of St. Paul). Several congregations in the Riverside and North Riverside Covenant of Churches are participating in this exchange, praying with Jesus in John 17 “that they may all be one.” We are grateful for Pastor Jansen's ministry among us this day, and we pray for the Holy Spirit's blessing upon him and the congregation of Riverside Presbyterian as together we worship and minister in Jesus' name. Pastor Lauritsen is preaching and leading the liturgy at Riverside United Methodist Church this morning. Please remember in prayer the Covenant of Churches and the one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church during these days of the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity.

The Annual Western Conference
Mission Offering
will be received during the
Epiphany Season next Sunday, January 30th.
The offering will benefit the leadership training program of our synod which
assists seminarians and others who are preparing for church leadership in
Central and Eastern Europe.
Special envelopes for this offering will be available that Sunday in the bulletins.
Instruction and Preparation for Holy Communion
Instruction for the Sacrament of Holy Communion will be offered to children of the congregation during “Pastor’s Time” at 9:15 a.m. on Sunday mornings during the educational hour beginning February 6th through March 27th. Full participation in the Sacrament will be celebrated at the conclusion of this period of instruction, and following conversation with the children’s parents, on Easter Sunday, April 24th at the festival liturgy. Whether or not your child is communing already, this time of instruction and preparation will be beneficial.
